Sep-iSYS™ Low Pressure Production Unit

Benefit of the Technology
  • Rejuvenate low pressure wells by reducing backpressure on wells thus allowing it to produce at much lower pressures;
  • Increases production and extends the lifespan of low pressure able; and
  • Compact and lightweight with no rotating equipment making it suitable for unmanned remote wellhead platforms.

‘Rejuvenating Low Pressure and Idle Wells’

Among the main issues encountered with mature fields is the decline in well flowing pressures which in many cases is inadequate to overcome the backpressure imposed on the wells by the downstream system, resulting in reduced production or complete cessation of flow from the well.

To assist with the rejuvenation of idle and low production wells, a compact low pressure production process system is specifically tailored to boost the pressures of production fluids from low pressure wells. The system is compact, economical, light weight, self-containable with no external power supply/utilities requirement and requires minimal or no manning.

This novel system consists of two vessels; a low pressure separator to receive production fluids from wells and perform gas-liquid separation, and a surge vessels that operates in batches to receive liquids from the low pressure separator and discharge the liquids at very much higher pressures by utilizing higher pressure motive gas.

Since its an automated system, it allows the surge vessel to switch between receiving production fluids at low pressures and discharging the liquids at higher pressures without any operator intervention. The unit is a self-contained system requiring no external power apart from motive gas and has no rotating equipment allowing for easy installation on remote wellhead platforms. The system can be configured with a compact compression system to recover the gas, thus avoiding gas venting or flaring.
