SENIOR ANALYST, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

The Strategic Communications – Public Engagement and Branding Senior Analyst contributes to MPRC success by assisting and supporting the Head of Strategic Communications, in executing communications initiatives covering social media, brand, stakeholder management and engagements and event management.

Key responsibilities

 

  1. Brand
  1. Support the development of MPRC’s brand strategy, working closely with corporate strategy and operations team to ensure a consistent message across all channels.
  2. Identify platforms, to drive awareness and align with strategic objectives.
  3. Advocate strict adherence to CI and brand guidelines across all marketing/media collaterals.

 

  1. Stakeholder Management
  1. Able to establish stakeholder engagement framework, enhance and maintain a good network and relationship relevant ministries, governments agencies, authorities, associations, media, communities, and other relevant stakeholders to advocate, defend MPRC position.
  2. Advise the Management on changes in Government policies, processes and regulatory which are significant to the company.
  3. Developing or fostering effective working relationships and rapport with identified and relevant stakeholders.

 

  1. Event Management
  1. Manage all external events for MPRC, with the aim of creating buzz and amplifying the MPRC brand.
  2. Plan and coordinate visits, such as roadshows or open days, to increase awareness and build trust with MPRC partners.
  3. Develop and implement event marketing campaigns and strategies and monitor their success.
  1. Able to strategise overall event management planning from start to finish, within departmental budget.

Work closely with Publications and Media Relations unit, and other departments to plan and develop relevant event/stakeholder engagement to further elevate MPRC’s profile.

Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time by the Management / Head of Department / Reporting Manager whenever deemed appropriate.

Requirements

Knowledge

  • Local Malaysian with at least a bachelor’s degree related to communications, public relations, marketing business management and other relevant fields with a minimum grade of second class upper.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in corporate communications / branding / stakeholder engagement/ event engagement.
  • Strong hands-on experience in stakeholder management and brand strategy; must be a self-starter and takes initiatives.
  • Agency experience and knowledge about oil and gas industry is a bonus.

 

Skills

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong storytelling skills and able to engage with various levels of stakeholders.
  • Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia is recommended.
  • Basic/intermediate skills in design/video editing is recommended.

 

Abilities

  1. Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional language is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage stakeholders and/or media representatives at all operational levels with confidence in a clear and concise manner.
  1. Programme Management and Execution
  • Meticulous with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects (events/branding/stakeholder) whilst adding value to every assigned task.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
  • Ability to build good connections, source, negotiate and build long-term relationships with vendors.
  • Prepared to work long and odd hours when needed, under pressure and within tight deadlines.
