The Strategic Communications Senior Analyst contributes to MPRC success by assisting and supporting the Head, Strategic Communications, in executing communication initiatives covering external public/media relations, social media, brand, stakeholder management and internal communications.  

Key responsibilities
  1. External Communications
  1. Support Head of Department in crafting communication messaging, campaigns for company and to work with management team in developing content for a variety of messages and audience.
  2. Execute corporate, PR, and marketing communication plans.
  3. Develop impactful PR programmes, industry stories, and other thought leadership campaigns.
  4. Conduct continuous surveillance of relevant media sources for current and emerging industry, economic, financial, social and political issues that may impact MPRC’s role or MPRC’s reputation.
  5. Ensure standards of delivery and raise the quality of output of all communications materials.
  1. Brand
  1. Support the development of MPRC’s brand strategy, working closely with corporate strategy and operations team to ensure a consistent message across all channels.
  2. Identify platforms, to drive awareness and recall aligned to strategic objectives.
  3. Advocate strict adherence of CI and brand guidelines across all marketing/media collaterals.
  1. Stakeholder Management
  1. Support the organisation’s stakeholder engagement initiatives involving relevant ministries, government agencies, authorities, associations, media, communities and other relevant stakeholders.
  2. Developing or fostering effective working relationships and rapports with identified and relevant stakeholders.
  1. Event Management
  1. Manage all external events for MPRC, with the aim of creating buzz and amplifying the MPRC brand.  
  2. Develop and implementing event marketing campaigns and strategies, and monitor their success.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time by the Management /Head of Department/ Reporting Manager whenever deemed appropriate.
  • Local Malaysian with at least a bachelor’s degree related to Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management and other relevant fields with a minimum grade of second class upper.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Corp comms/ brand/social media/stakeholder engagement.
  • Agency experience and knowledge about oil and gas industry are added bonus.
  • Strong hands-on experience in stakeholder management and brand strategy; must be a self-starter and takes initiative.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong storytelling skills and able to engage with various levels of stakeholders.


  1. Writing and Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional language is an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to copywrite articles, promotional scripts, social media and other content reflecting organisation key messages, features and benefits.
  1.  Stakeholder Engagement + Social Media Management
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and/or media representatives at all operational levels with confidence in a clear and concise manner.
  • Able to comfortably navigate social media platforms, trends, to best curate and craft content to the relevant audience.

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects and assignments, whilst adding value to each assigned tasks.
  • Ability to create communication plans in line with strategy and targets within budgets.
  • Ability to produce or guide vendors in producing materials of visual impact.
  • Prepared to work long and odd hours when needed, under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • Assist the Manager and relevant departments to develop messaging strategies and execute activities.
